Watch: Poor refereeing mars thrilling Mohun Bagan vs Jamshedpur FC encounter

Poor refereeing ruins the exciting ISL 2023-24 match between Mohun Bagan and Jamshedpur FC, as TP Rehenesh gets sent off for fouling Sahal Abdul Samad.

A hoard of poor refereeing decisions and a hoard of wrong penalty marred the thrilling Mohun Bagan vs Jamshedpur FC clash in ISL 2023-24. Rehenesh was given marching orders for his challenge against Sahal, which was declared unconstitutional. Mohun Bagan had a legitimate goal nullified. With a sliding challenge, Rehenesh rushed off his line and attempted to steal the ball from Sahal. The referee blew his whistle because his challenge was too late. The whistle blew just as Sadiku placed the ball into the net. The Mariners objected to the lack of an advantage. For the Mariners, it was a freekick awarded instead, not a goal.

The incident was well followed by another wrong penalty call giving the Red Miners a chance to bridge the gap. Vishal Kaith came off his line and misjudged the ball, leaving Nikhil Barla with an open goal. However, Yuste fouled Barla to concede a penalty. Steve Ambri scored from the spot kick to pull one goal back.
