VIL 3-4 BAR Highlights: Barcelona comes out on top in 7-goal thriller

Barcelona came out on top against Villarreal in a chaotic La Liga game on Sunday.

Villarreal vs Barcelona Highlights: La Liga – VIL vs BAR – Barcelona managed to edge past Villarreal in a 7-goal thriller in La Liga match on Sunday. 16-year-old Lamine Yamal was the star of the match as he assisted one, and almost scored two. Barcelona made a dream start after Gavi and Frenkie De Jong scored two goals inside 15 minutes. However, the home team came back in stunning fashion and equalised in first half.

The start of second half saw Villarreal taking a lead via Alex Baena goal but two quick goals from Ferran Torris and Lewandowski powered Xavi’s men over the line.

Barca substitute Ferran Torres struck from close range to level the match again in the 68th minute, with Lewandowski tapping-in from a rebound off the post a little later, to give them a hard-fought win in a pulsating affair.

It was Barca’s second win in three games this season. They are third in the LaLiga standings on seven points, level with Girona, trailing leaders Real Madrid by two points.

It is Villarreal’s second loss on in La Liga. They lost their opening La Liga match by a 2-1 margin at home against Real Betis. They won the next match on the road by a 0-1 margin against Mallorca.

Barcelona, on the other hand, were coming in this game with a win. Their opening match ended in a goalless draw against Getafe. They fortunately won their second match at home by a 2-0 margin against Cadiz.
