AC Milan had an average season last year around. They ended last season in 4th place in the Serie A table. They were knocked out of the Coppa Italia from the round-of-16 stage. Rossoneri reached the semi-finals of the Champions League where they were knocked out by city rivals Inter Mian. They ended their Italian Super Cup journey as the runners-up. AC Milan will be looking for a good start to the pre-season for the upcoming season. They have already bolstered their squad ahead of the upcoming season.

- Coach Ancelotti has included all big names in the squad including new arrivals Joselu, Fran Garcia, and Jude Bellingham. - Considering the opponent, Ancelotti could make full use of his squad. It would not be surprising if he uses two different XIs on the field. - The coach has left out Divock Origi, Mattia Caldara, Ante Rebic, Marko Lazetic, and Fode Ballo-Toure out of the squad against Real Madrid as these players are not in the coach’s plans for the upcoming season. On the other hand, similar to Madrid boss Ancelotti, Pioli could also use his while squad in turns for this match. There is a chance, he will use two starting XIs for each halves of the match.
- Olivier Giroud and Leao could get their starts in the final third. Pulisic and Loftus-Cheek will also hope to get back their spot in the starting XI in this match. Additionally, youngsters Jan-Carlo Simic and Chaka Toure could be given some playing time. However, Ismael Bennacer is set to miss the match as he’s still recovering from his knee issue.
