Champions League semifinals: Real Madrid set date with Bayern Munich, PSG faces Dortmund

Real Madrid knock Manchester City out of UCL to meet Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund face PSG in UCL semis

The UEFA Champions League 2023-24 is nearing it’s completion. With the quarter finals done and dusted, it is now time for the semi-finals. Amidst the biggest shocks, Barcelona and defending Champions Manchester City has been knocked out of the tournament. Real Madrid went on to beat the Manchester Blues 4-3 in Penalties to set date with Bayern Munich.

Los Blancos sink Blue Moon

Drama, Drama, Drama! Real Madrid clashed with Manchester City over 2 legs without nothing to separate. Ultimately, the tie went on to penalties to decide the winner. The first leg took place in Spain with the game ending in a thrilling 3-3 draw. Come the second leg, hosts City cancelled an early opener by Rodrygo.

Post extra-time, the game went to penalties. Misses from Bernardo Silva and Mateo Kovacic meant, Real Madrid go on to reach the semi finals for the 17th time. Los Blancos now will face the mighty Bavarians.

Bavarians outclass Gunners

Another entertaining tie, but it was the German giants who went on to sink the English side. Harry Kane and Co will now go on to meet Real Madrid in an epic semi finals clash. Arsenal fought hard but fell short to the mighty Bundesliga side. The first leg ended on a 2-2 draw. But Joshua Kimmich’s solitary goal Allianz Arena helped the hosts go past the Gunners.

Les Parisiens complete comeback over Cules

PSG registered an incredible comeback to secure their spot in the semi finals of the UEFA Champions League. At home, i.e the Parc des Princes, Barcelona beat the Parisian side 3-2 to head into the second leg of quarter finals with a solitary goal advantage.

At Camp Nou, Barcelona took an early lead courtesy of Raphinha. Tragedy struck went defender Ronald Araujo was shown the marching orders. PSG regrouped while Dembele, Vitinha and a brace from Kylian Mbappe saw PSG winning the tie 4-1. In the end, PSG booked their place in the semis with a 6-4 aggregate score over the two ties.

Yellow Wall sinks Rojiblancos

Borussia Dortmund registered a sensational comeback in the Champions League. Atletico Madrid secured the first leg with a 2-1 win at home. But in the second leg, the Yellow Wall stood strong against the Rojiblancos. Dortmund went on to thump the Psanish side 4-2 to secure a 5-4 win to book their spot in the semis of the UEFA Champions League.
