According to reports, Real Madrid is interested in hiring Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni as their next head coach. If reports are to be believed, then the Spanish side has circled the Argentina leader as they begin preliminary talks.
Lionel Scaloni has been a revelation for the Argentines in his time at the helm. He has helped them win the Copa America in 2021, the Finalissima in 2022 and then, came the big one. He helped Lionel Messi achieve his dream of winning the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022. Now, it seems like Real Madrid are looking into potentially signing the coach.
Real Madrid want Lionel Scaloni as Head Coach?
The Argentine, on the other hand, issued confusing signals after the game regarding his future with the team, prompting Real Madrid’s immediate inquiry.
According to Doble Amarilla, preliminary contacts have already been established between the two parties. Lionel Scaloni is on top of the globe after winning the FIFA World Cup. Recently, Argentina also defeated Brazil in CONMBEOL World Cup qualification.
The 45-year-old leader is well-known for his friendship with Messi, who is nine years younger than his mentor. He took over as Argentina coach following the 2018 World Cup, in which Argentina was eliminated in the round of 16.
He took them to the winner’s podium on his debut appearance on the grandest stage. However, there will be speculation that if Scaloni departs, Messi could retire from the National Team. Messi’s international career may be coming to an end at the age of 36.

Carlo Ancelotti has refused to comment on reports that he will become the new manager of Brazil’s national team beginning next summer. He stated to the media last week that his attention remains with Real Madrid.
He said, ‘I don’t think anything about it. I’m proud that one of the best international teams in the world like Brazil is linked to me, that gives me a lot of pride. But I have a contract (at Real Madrid) until 30 June. I repeat, my future will soon be known. I am here for at least six more months. Am I waiting until the last day of my contract for a renewal offer from Real Madrid? Yes.’
Scaloni’s statement after Brazil game
Lionel Scaloni was an integral component of Argentina’s FIFA World Cup victory in Qatar last year. at his last 50 matches, the manager has only lost twice, once to Saudi Arabia at the World Cup and once to Uruguay earlier this month.
But, he made a statement which indicated that he could be looking to move on from the Argentina National Team.

Scaloni said, ‘Argentina needs a coach who has all the energy possible and who is well … I need to stop the ball and start thinking, I have a lot of things to think about during this time. It’s not goodbye or anything, but I need to think because the bar is very high and it’s complicated to keep going and it’s complicated to keep winning.’
It is still not set in stone that Scaloni might leave. But, Real Madrid will be keeping a close eye on the Argentine. Especially after this statement.
