Salzburg’s keeper Nico Mantl did well to preserve his team’s lead not long after the hour mark with a quick response save when Luis Diaz showed up close to home following some mind-boggling passing by Liverpool in the area.
Diaz had the ball toward the back of the net as full-time drew closer, yet the goal was called-off for offside as Roberto Firmino’s through ball was a second late to the Colombian international while the linesman’s flag went up.
