MLS 2023/24: Major League Soccer is in its final stages and Inter Miami is still fighting hard to get tickets for the Final series playoffs. Lionel Messi’s team is looking to turn the table in the final league games. They got a big boost to their pursuit of playoffs, courtesy of other clubs’s performances. Now, the advantage is in the hands of Miami who can write down another script of the comeback.
The Herones have been hugely transformed since the arrival of Lionel Messi but they are lacking in the MSL. When Messi joined the squad, Miami were struggling at the bottom of the Eastern Conference table. They are now five points behind a playoff spot, thanks to the defeats of DC United, Charlotte FC and Montreal. These three games opened the doors for Messi who can change the fortunes in MLS 2023-24.
Wayne Rooney’s side also took part in this as they lost to New York Red Bulls 5-3 despite Christian Benteke’s hat-trick. Charlotte FC lost to FC Cincinnati 3-0 on the road and their gap with Miami is left with 2 points. On the other side, Montreal were beaten by Atalanta United 4-1. These sides lost their game with a good margin which also affected their goal difference.
Now, the equation is pretty simple. Inter Miami have three games in hand and they can surpass DC United who have taken the 9th spot in the table. They are 6 points clear of Montreal who are 8th in the table. With games in hand, Miami can easily reach the playoff zone but they have to avoid dropping points.

Inter Miami will now face Orlando City this weekend and they would look to take three points from this game. Lionel Messi’s availability is in doubt due to injury. Miami are coming off a 4-0 home victory against Toronto. Every game is a do-die affair for the club and they can’t lose this opportunity given by other teams. If they drop points, it might be tough to crack the playoffs.
