PSG are inching closer to their 11th title with an 8-point lead over second-placed Marseille. They only have 6 league games left this season. Hence, they will try everything to win their remaining matches and confirm their title win as soon as possible. However, the job will not be easy as PSG have been struggling. They uncomfortably managed a win over bottom-placed Angers in their last match. With this year’s title win, they will become the highest Ligue 1 title holder. PSG and Saint Etienne hold the record now with 10 Ligue 1 titles for each club.
About facing Lorient, coach Christophe Galtier said during the pre-match press conference, “They’re a team that gets the ball down and plays, creates danger and does a lot of running. They’re a very technical side, especially between the lines, so we’ll need to be disciplined in order to manage this game properly.”
Lorient started the season quite well. They were giving top-table teams good enough competition for a spot in the European qualifying zone. However, their downfall started, and kept losing points. - PSG has a long list of injuries including Neymar Jr who is still recovering from his ankle surgery, Renato Sanches who is suffering from an adductor issue, Presnel Kimpembe who is yet to recover from an Achilles problem, and Nordi Mukiele who is suffering from a hamstring injury.
- They do have some good news as Timothee Pembele has come back from his knee issue and Nuno Mendes has recovered from muscle injury. They have also started training with the team and will be available for their match against Lorient.
- Juan Bernat gave an assist to Mbappe during PSG’s last match against Angers. However, as Mendes comes back, he will probably take up the place of Bernat on the left side of the defense. Marco Verratti started their last match on the bench, but he will probably be called up on Sunday in Carlos Soler’s place.

- Lorient’s long list of injuries includes Julien Laporte and Jean-Victor Makengo who are out with knee issues and Theo Le Bris and Igor Silva who are suffering from thing-related injuries.
