PSG only managed to win the Ligue 1 title last season with much difficulty. Their performance in other competitions was quite mediocre. To improve their odds of winning more trophies this season they are rebuilding their team under the guidance of new coach Luis Enrique. Enrique started their pre-season campaign against La Havre. They won the match by a 2-0 margin. Following the win, they travelled to Asia for their pre-season tour. Their Asia tour has not gone well so far as they have remained winless.
Their first match of the tour was against Cristiano Ronaldo and Co. at Al Nassr. They ended the match at a goalless stalemate. Following this was their match against the J1 League team Cerezo Osaka. To the coach’s dismay, the match ended with a defeat by a 3-2 margin. They will want to get back to winning ways with their next match set against last season’s Champions League finalists, Internazionale. Following this, they will play another friendly match against the K League 1 team Jeonbuk.
Internazionale had a good season last time around. They ended the season in 3rd place in the Seria A table, as the Champions League finalists, and as the Supercoppa Italiana and Coppa Italia winners. They will be looking to give tough competition for the Serie A title in the upcoming season. Inter have started preparing for that with several new inclusions to the team in this transfer window. So far, they have played two pre-season friendlies against Pergolettese and Al Nassr.
They won their opening match against the third-tier team Pergolettese by a massive 10-0 margin. Then they travelled to Asia for their next match against Al Nassr. However, similar to PSG, this match also ended in a draw, albeit by a 1-1 margin. They will look to keep up the unbeaten run in their pre-season campaign with a win against PSG. Following this match, they will face RB Salzburg in another friendly before they start the 2023-24 campaign against Monza on August 19.

- PSG are shrouded with the situation around Kylian Mbappe. Even though the French star doesn’t want to leave the club this season, PSG do not want to lose him as a free agent. As a result, he has been put on the list to sell. This, he has not been included in the squad for any of their pre-season friendlies. Hence, he won’t be taking the field another time.
- PSG’s new inclusions in the team have been Lucas Hernandez, Marco Asensio, Manuel Ugarte, and Milan Skriniar. Newcomer Asensio started as a centre-forward, but youngster Hugo Ekitike started in that position in their last match against Cerezo Osaka. As he managed to score a goal last time around, it is expected that he will start in that position again.
- Coach Enrique will surely make some changes to the team that lost against Cerezo Osaka in their last match. Lucas Hernandez, Carlos Soler, Neymar, and Achraf Hakimi could be lined up for the match against Inter. However, similar to Mbappe, Marco Verratti is linked with a move away from the club. Hence, he will not be included in the squad.
