Raphael Varane injury, Premier League: Bad news for Manchester United, Raphael Varane out for a few weeks due to injury during international duty- The Premier League will be back this weekend as the international break of the UEFA Nations League and the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers gets over. However, it is bad news for Manchester United as their new signing French defender Raphael Varane will be out for a few weeks due to a groin injury that he sustained during the international break as he starred in the French side that won the UEFA Nations League.

Kylian Mbappé scored a late winner as world champion France came from behind to beat Spain 2-1 in the Nations League final on Sunday. Mbappé netted with 10 minutes remaining as France was again forced to fight back, just as it had done in the semifinals against Belgium.

Premier League: Manchester United’s statement on Varane’s injury

The statement reads: “Raphael Varane sustained a groin muscle injury in the UEFA Nations League final and has commenced rehabilitation at the club.

He will be out for a few weeks.

The center-back was withdrawn during the first half of France’s game with Spain, which Les Bleus won 2-1 at the San Siro.

It marked the latest trophy in his glittering career, with Reds team-mates Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial also part of the successful side.

The Reds begin a busy period with an away game at Leicester City on Saturday, kicking off at 15:00 BST.

Following the home Champions League tie with Atalanta, league fixtures against Liverpool and Tottenham complete a tough month.

Everybody at United would like to wish Raphael a speedy recovery.
