British football coach of Indian descent, Trishan Patel, has officially joined the Pakistan football team as an Assistant Coach and Performance Analyst. Patel has arrived at the team’s camp in Islamabad, where they are preparing for their final two FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan.
Previously assisting the team remotely, Patel brings extensive experience from his diverse coaching career in England. His background includes working with various organizations, clubs, and schools, notably with prominent clubs like Liverpool and Luton Town.
The Pakistan Football Federation announced Patel’s appointment via their social media channels, showcasing him in the national team’s kit.

Patel’s coaching journey began in 2006 as a scouting coach. In 2009, he joined Luton Town as a Community Coach, serving until 2015. Holding a UEFA A license, he became the assistant manager at Biggleswade United in 2019. Additionally, Patel has served as an international academy coach with Liverpool and has been involved with Berkhamsted.
Pakistan is set to face regional giants Saudi Arabia in their upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifier match in Islamabad on June 6, before traveling to Tajikistan for their final match. Patel’s expertise and fresh perspective are expected to significantly enhance the team’s performance in these crucial encounters.
