From one legend to another, one captain to another – Croatia skipper Luka Modric has shared a heartfelt message for Indian skipper Sunil Chhetri. The Indian skipper is slated to play his last match for the country, before hanging his boots from International football.

“Hi Sunil, I just wanna say hello and wish you all the best in your last game for the National team. Congratulations on your career. You are a legend of this game. And to your teammates, I hope you make his last game special and unforgettable. Good luck and win for your captain. All the best and best regards from Croatia,” said Luka Modric on a video in social media.
On 16th May, Sunil Chhetri announced his decision to hang up his boots from International football. He also claimed that the India vs Kuwait match in Kolkata on 6th June would be last game for the Indian Football Team. And now that this day is arriving, messages from far and wide across the world are flourished for the Indian skipper.
Speaking to the media, a day before the game, Sunil Chhetri confirmed that he won’t go back on his decision. He has rubbished all rumours of taking a potential U-turn. Chhetri however, will continue his stint in club football. He will re-join pre season training session with Bengaluru FC from early July.
