Manchester United has officially announced the much-awaited signing of Rasmus Hojlund. The 20-year-old already signed the necessary documents on Thursday to make the official entry at Old Trafford on Saturday.
The Red Devils revealed the signing via social media and they made it more exciting by presenting the young sensation in front of the Old Trafford crowd before the penultimate pre-season game with Lens.

John Murtough, Manchester United Football Director, said: “Rasmus is a truly exceptional talent. He possesses technical and physical attributes which rank him amongst the best players in the world for his age group. Working under Erik ten Hag and his coaches will provide Rasmus with the perfect development platform. Everyone across the club will ensure that he is given the time and all the support required to reach his immense potential.“
Hojlund is Man United’s third summer signing. The club signed Mason Mount from Chelsea and Andre Onana from Inter Milan. They invested a combined £179m for the duo. The Denmark international is likely to be signed in £72million.
The Denmark international is set to receive the Raphael Varane and Casemiro treatment after completing his official move from Atalanta. It reminded fans of Man United’s 2021 signing of Varane who was also revealed in a similar way.
The Dane striker has netted 27 goals in 87 club appearances. Last season, he scored 10 times for Atalanta. He has also represented his nation six times and scored six goals.
Rasmus Højlund said after signing a new contract with Man United and revealed how he was a fan of this club since his childhood days: “It is no secret that I have been a fan of this great club since I was a small boy, and I dreamed of walking out at Old Trafford as a Manchester United player.
He also added, “I am incredibly excited by this opportunity to turn that dream into a reality, and I am determined to repay the faith that the club has shown in me. It is still early in my career, but I know that I am ready to make this step up and play with this group of world-class players.
Erik ten Hag will be pumped up after this signing. The 20-year-old, Dane will add stability to Man United’s attack and he can solve the goal-scoring problem in the upcoming season. Man United will now focus on their next target Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat who is on the radar of Erik ten Hag.
