“Neymar Jr was successfully operated on late this morning at the Aspetar Hospital in Doha…,” but no timeline was provided for his return, and the team stated that “the player will now follow a protocol of rest and treatment”, PSG said in a statement.

Earlier this week, the Ligue 1 club confirmed that Neymar will not play for the rest of the season due to his injury.
Neymar expressed his determination to “come back stronger” after his injury in a recent Instagram post.

Notably, Neymar has struggled with injuries throughout his stint with PSG. The Brazillian did not feature for PSG in their last 3 Champions League last-16 ties. He was on the sidelines before PSG’s last-16 tie against Real Madrid in 2019 due to metatarsal fractures. He then missed a clash against Manchester United the following year, with the French side being knocked out of the Champions League on both occasions.
He did not feature in PSG’s 2-0 defeat to Bayern Munich on Wednesday, which knocked them out of the Champions League.
In the 20 Ligue 1 matches he played this season, Neymar scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists. The Brazillian scored 2 goals in his 6 appearances in the Champions League. PSG is currently on top of the league with an eight-point lead over second-placed Olympique de Marseille.
