Southgate’s decision to substitute Rashford right after the clash may have stopped Marcus Rashford from further aggravating his injury.

Manchester United will hope that this injury is not serious and that Rashford will be able to play when the Premier League returns. Gareth Southgate will most likely rest Rashford in England’s 2024 EURO’s Qualifiers game against North Macedonia. England has already comfortably qualified, and Southgate has no reason to risk Rashford against North Macedonia. The England manager does not think Rashford’s injury is anything serious.
“I think he’s probably OK, but we just thought given the nature of the collision it was a chance to get Cole (Palmer) into the game. I haven’t assessed too much but I think he was OK when he came off,” said Southgate.
