However, their ace Lionel Messi had other ideas.

- Coach Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino has confirmed that Lionel Messi will be leading the team as the captain. He made his debut in the 54th minute in their last match. However, if he is to lead the team to another victory, he could be looking at his first start for the club in this match. The same could be said for his former Barcelona teammate, Sergio Busquets who contributed a lot last day.
- Just before their Busquets and Messi’s debut match, the club announced their new signing. Jordi Alba has joined his former Barcelona teammates in the United States and he could be making his debut in this match. He could be starting off the bench in his debut match, but it’s still hard to say if the coach will introduce him right off the bat or wait a few days for him to adjust.
