However, they have already acquired one of their high-priority targets, Mason Mount from Chelsea on a transfer fee of £50 million plus £5 million in add-ons. Mount has already joined his new teammates in training sessions. He has also been named in the 26-man squad who will be traveling to Norway for their opening pre-season friendly.
Mount could be getting his non-competitive debut for Manchester United in this match. Considering the midfielders coach Erik Ten Hag has named for the match, there is a chance he will start Mount for the match. A lot of first-team players are yet to return from their vacations. These include Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, Christian Eriksen, and Harry Maguire. All of them are set to return on Monday, so they could be included in the Red Devils’s next friendly match in Scotland against Lyon.

At this moment, their top contender is Andre Onana from Internazionale. As per reports, they are not looking into any other prospects except Onana. Reportedly, they are close to signing the talented lad as well. He could be signing with them. They are also looking to sign a striker to help and feature alongside Marcus Rashford. They are trying to bring in Atlanta’s Rasmus Hojlund in that role. Hence, following Mount’s debut in the friendly on Wednesday, fans can expect Onana to come into the picture soon as well. However, they will have to wait for a striker.
