Mason Greenwood Return: GAME OVER for suspended Manchester United striker, Greenwood informs friends he will NEVER PLAY for Red Devils again, Premier League

A source close to the youngster told The Sun, ‘Mason believes he’s finished at United.’ ‘He’s sat at home kicking his heels and very frustrated.’

‘He wants to get back playing football but realises his situation is very complicated and it’s his own doing.’

‘He is determined to play football again but doesn’t think he’ll ever pull on a United shirt ever again.’

After Mason’s girlfriend reported physical and sexual abuse on social media in January 2022, the youngster was arrested. However, the charges were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service earlier this year. He was expected to join Erik ten Hag’s squad but there has been no progress yet.

Greenwood, who is suspended by the club continues to earn £70,000 per week, but is not permitted to return to training. His contract at Old Trafford is set to expire in the summer of 2025.

The 21-year-old has not kicked the ball since United’s 1-0 win over West Ham in January, 2022. After his charges were dropped, the club decided to put an internal investigation before deciding on the striker’s return, the cub stated back in February, ‘The club will now conduct its own process before determining next steps.’ ‘We will not make any further comment until that process is complete.’

Although there is nothing legally preventing United from adding Greenwood back to their first-team squad, club sponsors are reportedly concerned about the potential harm his return could do to the club’s reputation.
