Man City present second bid To Wolves worth over £51 million for Matheus Nunes

Wolves could let Matheus Nunes go if they receive a bid with what they consider the right valuation.

Manchester City are looking to strengthen their midfield. Especially after Kevin De Bruyne was ruled out for four months, Man City need an effective replacement for the player. They made their first bid for Matheus Nunes worth £47 million to Wolves which was then rejected by them. They are not refusing to let Nunes go, but they feel the valuation could be more. However, it did not bother Man City and they recently presented their second bid. The new bid is worth over £51 million and the Cityzens are awaiting Wolves’ reply.

Manchester City are urgently looking to strengthen their midfield. Kevin De Bruyne sustained his first injury during their Champions League final. He took the entire summer break and pre-season to recover. He did not appear for any of Man City’s matches during the pre-season campaign. He appeared in their opening Premier League match against Burnley. De Bruyne sustained another hamstring injury in that match. Following the doctor’s assessments, it was said that De Bruyne would need to have surgery.

Man City also informed that it will take De Bruyne at least 4 months to recover. In such a situation, Cityzens are desperate to bring in a short-term replacement. They are targeting Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes for the role. They presented their first bid to the Wolves which was worth £47 million. However, Wolves rejected the bid.

Manager Gary O’Neil confirmed the news and their side by saying, “He’s an important player for us and has four, potentially five, years left on his contract. but we rejected a bid because we didn’t feel it met our valuation of what Matheus is worth to us.” He added, “I don’t know the details of the bid and where it’s at, but all I know is that our valuation of Matheus wasn’t met. I’m head coach. I coach the team and the players who are available, and Matheus isn’t available this weekend.”

Apparently, Man City were still confident that they would be able to make the move happen. Reportedly, they recently made a second bid to Wolves worth over £51 million. It’s still not known if Wolves will agree to the bid as they still want to hold on to Nunes. However, they could let him go with the right amount of money.
