Romelu Lukaku to AS Roma, Chelsea man completes loan move

Lukaku is likely to move to Roma on loan, The deal is expected to happen before the deadline day of the summer transfer window. Both clubs are hopeful of reaching an agreement on Thursday.

Romelu Lukaku Transfer: Chelsea has allegedly accepted a loan offer from Roma in the Italian Serie A for striker Romelu Lukau. Lukaku was reportedly told by Chelsea that he is no longer in their plans after a disappointing loan spell at Inter Milan last season. Despite a proven goal-scoring record, Lukaku has struggled to find a club. He was linked with Juventus, Inter Milan, and clubs in the Saudi Professional League.

Lukkau was struggling to get the potential buyer in the summer. He has also rejected offers from Saudi clubs. He wanted to stay with Inter but it didn’t happen. Chelsea was ready to get the best offers for the 30-year-old forward. Sending him on loan is the best decision for Chelsea as they can’t see him in the current setup and Lukaku is also not keen to stay at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has agreed to cut nearly a third of his salary and has joined hands with Roma over a temporary contract.

Romelu Lukau’s loan request from Italian Serie A team Roma has allegedly been accepted by Chelsea. Meanwhile, the high salary at Chelsea was the main concern in completing the deal but Lukaku found a solution. The Belgian international has agreed to cut nearly a third of his salary and has joined hands with Roma over a temporary contract at the Stadio Olimpico.

The Blues also want a sizeable loan fee and have not yet reached an agreement with the Serie A giants. The Premier League giants are asking £9m to send Lukaku back to Italy. Roma have only offered around half that figure so far. The deal is likely to happen before the deadline day of the summer transfer window. Chelsea and Roma both are hopeful of reaching an agreement on Thursday.

It was a roller-coaster ride for the 30-year-old striker and Chelsea tried hard to off-load him in the summer. He will be the 6th first-team player who will be sold out on loan followed by David Datro Fofana, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Hakim Ziyech, Gabriel Slonina and Angelo.

Earlier, Pochettino also made his stance clear on Romelu Lukaku. He always said in public and private discussions that he doesn’t want players in the squad who don’t want to be at Chelsea. He focused more on other players and we can see how Chelsea pushed their limits in the summer transfer window by investing a good amount. Many players have left the club and they sent few players on loan.

Chelsea have to deal with ongoing options. Lesley Ugochukwu and Deivid Washington are also tipped to make a loan move. However it will not happen if Lukaku’s loan move gets complete. The Blues need to have some options in their squad in case of injuries. Lukaku was not in the plan of the current manager and they will get free from the Belgian international in the summer.
