Liverpool reject £150M bid from Al Ittihad for Mo Salah on Transfer Deadline Day

As Transfer Deadline Day approaches, Liverpool has rejected a £150 million deal from Al Ittihad for Mohamed Salah to join the Saudi Pro League.

Transfer Deadline Day drama heats up. Liverpool have turned down a £150 million bid from Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad for star Mohamed Salah. The bid for the 31-year-old was in excess of £100 million, with add-ons pushing it up to £150 million. The Premier League club insists that the Egypt international is not for sale, and that decision is final.

Salah, who joined Liverpool from Roma in 2017, signed a new three-year contract with the club last summer. Last week, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp stated that Salah was “100% committed” to the Anfield cause. He restated the club’s position that the player was not for sale on Friday.

Al Ittihad’s offer was guaranteed to be worth £100 million, plus an additional £50 million in add-ons. The player’s agency has previously rebuffed speculation about a move to Saudi Arabia, but has yet to reply to the current links with Al-Ittihad.

If they sell Salah after the transfer deadline on Friday, the Reds will be unable to find a replacement until January. The Saudi Pro League club is unsure when the window would close. The deadline is listed on their official website as September 7, although FIFA suggests it is September 20.

Salah has started all three games for Liverpool this season. Following a tie with Chelsea, Klopp’s team has seven points. They won consecutive games against Bournemouth and Newcastle United.

He assisted Luis Diaz’s goal at Chelsea but expressed disappointment after being substituted in the draw. It was before converting the rebound of his saved penalty in the win over Bournemouth. Salah assisted Darwin Nunez’s winner at Newcastle, and Liverpool won despite being reduced to 10 men for the most of the game.
