Lionel Messi Jr: A video of a kid dribbling and sailing past opponent defenders has taken over the internet. The kid seems to have some crazy skills that have a somewhat resemblance to Lionel Messi’s skills. As a result, many people mistook it as a video of Mateo Messi, Leo Messi’s second son. Even though Mateo Messi’s skills like his father have been conspicuous in several videos before, this video still belonged to another kid. This is an 8-year-old kid named Amine who plays for the Atletico Club Amsterdam.

A video that first appeared on the internet back in April has reared its head again now. The video contains a kid dribbling a ball during a match near the sidelines. He starts by receiving the ball with perfect control. He then cuts off the first defender by nutmegging the poor soul. Once he gets past the first defender, he gets past the second one who is significantly taller than him with much ease. The video does not show the kid’s face very clearly.
However, his physique looked very similar to Mateo Messi’s. That could have been the reason why many people confused this little boy with Lionel Messi’s second son. Another reason must have been the kid’s skills which resemble Lionel Messi’s to a great extent. By now, many people have been fooled by the video thinking it is Mateo Messi. However, upon further investigation of the child in the video, it has come out that the kid’s name is Amine. He plays for the Atletico Club Amsterdam.
Unaware of the fact that the kid in the video is not Mateo Messi, many people are posting the video with captions like, “Like father, like son”. However, the original video was posted on Instagram from Amine’s personal ID which his mother handles. He might not be Mateo Messi, but he seems to have ambitions to reach Lionel Messi’s level in the future. His profile picture contains a picture of him in an Argentina shirt standing beside a Lionel Messi picture. His bio reads ‘The Next Generation Messi’.

The profile contains several more videos of the kid playing for his team. He has become somewhat of a sensation with over 30 thousands of followers in Instagram. However, this helps him spread the truth of the kid’s talents. He is only 8 years old. Hence, he has his entire career ahead of him and this can help him catch the eye of scouts all around the world. It can help him achieve his dream of playing in the similar level of football as his idol Lionel Messi.
Even though, the video does not contain Lionel Messi’s second son, Mateo Messi, the little one has still inherited some skills from his father. Lionel Messi himself revealed that Mateo is extremely passionate about football and does not like to lose. He showed a glimpse of his skills after the World Cup final when Argentina became the World Champions. He played with Messi’s teammates’ kids at the Lusail Stadium. A video of that took over the internet as well when Mateo playfully dribbled past several opponents.
