Lionel Messi: Lionel Messi joined the MLS side Inter Miami last month. While the Argentine is still on vacation, the club has revealed to reporters that there will be a ‘major unveiling event’ on July 16th. Keeping the anticipation alive, they have not revealed Messi’s name. However, it can be guessed that they will unveil Messi and Sergio Busquets on the day. If they manage to sign their current target Jordi Alba before then, then he could be unveiled with his teammates as well.

Following his exit from PSG, Lionel Messi went straight to China to fulfill his national team duties. From there on, he has been enjoying his vacation with his family. Cutting his vacation short in the middle, he appeared for former Argentina legends Juan Roman Riquelme and Maxi Rodriguez’s farewell matches. He went back to complete his vacation following those matches. Inter Miami managing owner Jorge Mas previously said that Messi will play his debut match on July 21st against Cruz Azul.
However, Inter Miami and Messi fans were still waiting for the first glimpse of the Argentine in their club’s shirt. Recently, the club has revealed to reporters that there will be a ‘major unveiling event’ on July 16 at 8 PM ET. The club did not take Messi’s name, but that could have been done in order to keep up the anticipation. People are assuming that this event will be held to unveil both Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets as Inter Miami’s new arrivals.
Jorge Mas about that they are currently pursuing Jordi Alba. Reportedly, Alba also has offers from Saudi Arabia. However, it’s unclear what stage Inter Miami are in the transfer race to sign Alba. If they manage to bring in Alba before 16th July, he could also be unveiled along with his teammates. Fans have been waiting eagerly for this event for quite some time which became quite conspicuous. Mistaken about his debut date, a fan even made a 1200-mile journey to see his idol Lionel Messi a few days ago.

Lionel Messi’s decision to join Inter Miami was sudden. After spending 2 years at PSG, the World Cup winner wanted to go back to Barcelona, where he has spent the most of his career. However, he had to leave Barcelona in 2021 due to financial issues. Those issues remained to be the sole hindrance to his comeback. Even though La Liga gave their nod and Barcelona gave assurance, they could not convince Messi. He recalled his difficult move to PSG and revealed that he spent 2 unhappy years at Paris.
Messi did not want a repetition of those events. Hence, he decided to make an early call on his transfer and joined Inter Miami. Since his announcement, one concern has remained in everyone’s mind whether the MLS club will be able to handle the overwhelming crowd coming to see Messi. Jorge Mas assured that they are preparing for it. He also reminded that they have somewhat experience from before Qatar World Cup when Argentina trained in Miami. The doubts and concerns can be cleared if the unveiling event goes well.
