Lionel Messi left PSG this summer transfer window and surprised the world by joining the MLS side Inter Miami. Since he joined, Messi has been the center of attention for the entire country’s football fans. In fact, fans from around the world are coming to support the MLS club. His arrival and his experience leading to Miami’s first-ever trophy win has been a fairytale. The Apple TV+ docuseries, ‘Messi Meets America’ is showing exactly that. Now, they have promised to show ‘never-seen-before priceless moments’ revolving around Messi.
The first three episodes of the Apple TV+ docuseries ‘Messi Meets America’ have been released. The series features Lionel Messi and how he took North America by storm in only a few months. Talking about the rest of the three episodes that are set to release soon, the executive producer Scott Boggins talked to the Hollywood Reporter. He said, “The first three episodes tell the story of this magical transformational moment, and you get a real sense of how it happened because there was a lot going on behind the scenes.”
He added, “Then you’re taken on this incredible ride through the Leagues Cup. Absolutely no one expected what had happened. You’re with that team during that incredible historic moment. That’s a great sports story. The next three episodes are an amazing personal story. You start to see and really understand these individuals and you truly have a better understanding of Leo himself. These are priceless moments that no one has ever been able to capture before, and we’re so thrilled and so honoured that we were able to do it.”
As Messi’s contract with PSG expired this summer, he left the club to join the MLS side. It was a great surprise to everyone around the world. Mainly because the Argentina captain had the chance to come back to his boyhood club Barcelona after fulfilling his career’s most desired milestone. After he won the World Cup, Messi became more famous than he already was. When he announced his decision to join Inter Miami, the country’s football community’s focus became his arrival.
Lionel Messi made his debut with Inter Miami on 22nd July. His first match with the club was in the Leagues Cup. Inter Miami were without a win in 6 consecutive games at that point. It seemed like his arrival changed everything at the club. He made his debut memorable with a last-minute winning goal. From thereafter, Miami won every match until they won the Leagues Cup in only a few weeks. It looked like he had influenced the entire team to play better in that short amount of time.
Miami’s first-ever trophy win played out like a movie. Hence, Apple TV+ did not turn back on the opportunity to show the ‘how’ and ‘what’ of the entire journey. Messi’s arrival also saw a massive surge in demand for the new Miami jersey with his name and number. The demand surpassed anything ever experienced before by Adidas. The match ticket prices also went up by almost 500% and still almost all matches were sold out. This ‘Messi-mania’ will also be shown in this docuseries.
