Kylian Mbappe replies with unclear message to question about his future at PSG

Real Madrid might not make a move for Kylian Mbappe even if he walks out as a free agent next summer.

Kylian Mbappe has been connected with a move to Real Madrid since 2021. It resurfaced again this summer with Mbappe having only a year left on contract. The France team ace still hasn’t renewed his contract. There have been some rumours in the past few days that even if Mbappe walks away as a free agent next summer, Los Blancos will not make a move. Reportedly, after the Reims vs PSG game, Mbappe was asked about his future. He replied that the most important thing for him now is to play.

Kylian Mbappe has been shrouded in several controversies since this summer. His contract is about to expire at the end of this season. He refused to renew his contract which opened a can of worms between the club and their ace.

He was even put on the bench until he decided on his future. However, the club put everything behind in the wish to win more trophies this season. In the midst of this, there were rumours that Real Madrid were showing interest in him again.

The Spanish Giants have been trying to sign the France team star since 2021. However, the deal fell through that year as Mbappe renewed his deal with PSG. Los Blancos have been relentless in their efforts to sign him since then.

Even with Madrid’s interests this summer, Mbappe neither moved to another club nor renewed his deal with PSG. As per the current situation, there is a big chance that Mbappe will walk away as a free agent at the end of this season.

In the last few weeks, new rumours have emerged that Mbappe and Madrid have already started negotiations. However, Madrid released a statement calling them ‘false news’. The statement read, “Given the information recently issued and published by different media outlets, in which there is speculation about alleged negotiations between the player Kylian Mbappe and our club, Real Madrid CF would like to state that this information is completely false and that no such negotiations have taken place with a player who belongs to PSG.”

Mbappe is giving excellent performances so far this season. He has scored 13 goals in 12 appearances in Ligue 1 and scored 2 goals in the Champions League. In their last game in Ligue 1 – Reims vs PSG match, Mbappe scored a hattrick which won them the match by a 0-3 margin.

As per Marca, at the end of the match, when he was asked about his future, Mbappe said, “I don’t want to talk about it now. It is not the right time. The most important thing for me now is to play soccer.”

This win saw them climb to the top of the Ligue 1 table and Mbappe’s hattrick made that difference. Talking about the competition and his performance, Mbappe further said, “Ligue 1 is a different competition to the Champions League and the teams play differently.”

He added, “We wanted to be leaders and we are happy. I’m calmer now. I’m always happy to score a hat-trick. Being humble, there are times when I play worse and score less, but I’m happy with this game.”
