Speaking in the pre-match conference, Manager Carlo Ancelotti expects his star skipper Benzema to return for the weekend clash, stating, ‘If he recovers from the blow, he will play against Almeria. Karim Benzema has had a rough season while still scoring 26 goals in all competition. The Frenchman has struggled with numerous injuries, which have caused him to miss some of Real Madrid’s season. According to reports from Spain, Benzema missed Monday’s training with the Madrid squad, with discomfort in his left calf, resulting in his staying out of footballing action on Tuesday.
Alongside Benzema, Eduardo Camavinga and Rodygo too missed Monday’s training session and are doubtful for the Girona tie. The three forwards add to the injury list having already long-term casualties David Alaba and Ferland Mendy.
