Juventus vs Real Madrid Live: Club Friendlies LIVE – JUV vs RMA LIVE – Juventus and Real Madrid end their pre-season campaign with a blockbuster friendly on Thursday. The Old Lady’s first friendly was cancelled, while they drew in their last match against their Serie A rivals AC Milan. On the other hand, Los Blancos started their pre-season campaign on a good note with two consecutive wins. However, they are now approaching this friendly on the back of a defeat against their La Liga rivals Barcelona.

Juventus’ season last term was tumultuous, to say the least. Along with trying to win trophies, they were fighting financial irregularities charges against them. Ultimately, 10 points were deducted from them which saw them fall down the Serie A table at a time when they had no way to salvage the situation. They still qualified for the upcoming season’s Europa Conference League. However, UEFA announced a few days ago that they would be banned from the competition for this year. Juventus decided not to appeal the decision and focus on next season.

They were ready to start the preparation with their first pre-season match against Barcelona. However, that was cancelled after several Barca players fell sick with viral gastroenteritis. They eventually flew in for their next match against AC Milan which ended in a 2-2 draw. In the penalty shootout, they won by a 4-3 margin. Now, they face the La Liga giants Real Madrid in their last friendly. Then they start their Serie A campaign against Udinese on August 21.

Real Madrid had a somewhat good season last term as they added three more trophies to their cabinet. They won the Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and Copa Del Rey trophies. However, their performance in La Liga was inconsistent, which led them to finish 10 points behind the league leaders Barcelona at the end of the season. They reached the semi-finals of the Champions League but were knocked out by the eventual winners, Manchester City. They will be determined to do better in both competitions in the upcoming season.

Los Blancos started the preparations for that in a good enough manner as they won their first two pre-season friendlies. Their first win was a narrow one against AC Milan. They won that friendly by a narrow 3-2 margin before facing the Premier League giants Manchester United. They got away with a comfortable 2-0 win in that match. However, in their third match which was the friendly El Clasico, they lost by a 3-0 margin. Now they face Juventus before they start their La Liga campaign against Athletic Club on August 13.

Juventus Team News

  • Juventus coach Allegri almost has the entire squad at his disposal for the blockbuster against Los Blancos barring a few injury concerns. Adrien Rabiot is suffering from a calf issue, while Nicolo Fagioli is yet to recover from tonsillitis. As a result, both of the midfielders were left behind before the rest of the squad caught the plane for the USA for the pre-season tour.
  • Adding to the list of players to miss the match is defender Leonardo Bonucci. However, he seems to have fallen out of favour with the coach who has deemed the player a surplus. Meanwhile, Moise Kean recovered from a muscle injury before their last match and played for under an hour. He will be expected to feature again in the final third alongside either Arkadiusz Milik or Chiesa.
  • Dusan Vlahovic, who has travelled with the squad, was not involved in their last match. However, he could get some playing time. The same cannot be guaranteed about Fabio Miretti, Weston McKennie, Federico Chiesa, and Gleison Bremer. The quartet is linked with a move away from the club this summer. However, they still travelled with the squad.

Real Madrid Team News

  • Similar to Juventus, Real Madrid coach Ancelotti also has most of the squad at his disposal barring three injury concerns. New recruit Arda Guler has travelled back to Spain for further treatment of his knee injury. He will join fellow midfielder Dani Ceballos who is nursing a hamstring issue. Ferland Mendy also remains doubtful for the match with a hamstring issue of his own.
  • The coach will take a late decision on Mendy and if he stays sidelined, that could see Antonio Rudiger back at the centre-back position alongside Eder Militao, while David Alaba will be moving to the left-back position. In the meantime, Brahim Diaz and newcomer Joselu will compete with Rodrygo and Vinicius Jr for a start in the final third.
  • Coach Ancelotti will probably stick to his newly chosen 4-4-2 diamond formation. New arrival Jude Bellingham could start in the No. 10 position yet again. Meanwhile, experienced midfielder duo Toni Kroos and Luka Modric will compete for a place alongside Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, and Federico Valverde.
