The stage is set for the ISL Playoffs. FC Goa, Odisha FC, Kerala Blasters and Chennaiyin FC will play the ISL 2024 knockouts before reaching the coveted semi-finals. Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan went on to beat Mumbai City FC 2-1 to secure the ISL Shield win.
The first knockout game of ISL will see Odisha FC locking horns with Kerala Blasters on 19th April. Meanwhile, FC Goa will face Chennaiyin FC on 20th April. Both Goa and Odisha will play the match on their home grounds by virtue of finishing ahead on points table compared to their opponents.
ISL 2024 Knockouts
As for Mohun Bagan and Mumbai City FC, they will directly play the semi finals after finishing top. The Mariners defeated the Islanders 2-1 in a winner takes all the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata. Mumbai City FC headed into the game with a 2-point advantage.
Only a win was needed by Mohun Bagan to secure the shield title. And the Kolkata giants did that. Goals from Liston Colaco and Jason Cummings saw the Kolkata Giants being emerged as winners. Lallianzuala Chhangte pulled a goal back for the visitors but it was a little too late.
Mohun Bagan will face the winnner of Odisha FC vs Kerala Blasters in the semis. Mumbai City FC will take on the winner of the FC Goa vs Chennaiyin. The semis will be a double legged round with home and away fixtures with the final slated to take place on 4th May.
