Is Federico Chiesa moving to Man United? Di Marzio sheds light on forward’s future

Manchester United could fail in their pursuit to sign Federico Chiesa from Juventus.

Manchester United are in hot waters with 3 wins and 4 defeats in the Premier League so far. There have also been issues with players adding to their list of injuries. They’ve lost their forward Antony to abuse charges. On top of that, coach Erik Ten Hag has had a fallout with another forward Jadon Sancho. Reportedly, the Red Devils have been looking to bring in Federico Chiesa from Juventus to replace the gap. Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio exclusively provided his input on the matter to InsideSport.

In an exclusive interaction with InsideSport, Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio talked about whether it is possible for Federico Chiesa could move to Manchester United. He said, “I don’t think Juventus want to let Chiesa go. He has started the season very well and he is their best player. They want to win the title so I don’t think they want to let him go in January. Honestly, I don’t even think that Chiesa wants to move away from Juventus after six months of the season.”

Di Marzio added, “Chiesa, more than other players, wants to stay because he is finally playing every game after his many injuries. So, a change in January would be a big risk for him. I think he wants to stay at least until June. He wants to play the European competitions with Juventus and is focusing on being fit and doing well under Spalletti. Obviously, with his technical abilities, he would be perfect for Man United and the Premier League.”

He further said, “Liverpool wanted him two or three years ago but he didn’t want to leave Fiorentina for the Premier League. He wanted to stay in Italy. But he is a Premier League player with his technique and he is very powerful. I think a lot depends on his recovery from his injuries. He wants to stay at least until June.” Chiesa’s current deal with Juventus expires in 2025. There have been rumours that they could be presenting the forward with a new deal.

Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio sheds light on if Federico Chiesa could be moving to Premier League team Manchester United from Juventus

Manchester United are in desperate need of a few players that can turn it around for them in all competitions. In the Premier League, they won 3 and lost 4 games so far. They won the EFL third-round match against Crystal Palace but lost against Bayern Munich in the Champions League. The stats could be attributed to the injuries that have hindered coach Ten Hag’s efforts to field his strongest XI. Even without injuries, there have been controversies surrounding Antony with abuse charges and Jadon Sancho losing favour with the coach.

Hence, Chiesa could prove to be a vital addition. Chiesa has netted four goals in seven matches this season with Juventus. After a tumultuous term last season with legal battles and points deducted several times, Juventus are trying to get back to the top. Chiesa has been an important part of the team so far and they think he could help them win the title and during European competitions later. Chiesa also wants to stay at the Italian club. Hence, it’s unlikely that he will move to Man United.
