Inter Milan set to announce arrival of Benjamin Pavard from Bayern Munich

Inter Milan are set to sign the Bayern star Benjamin Pavard as they are preparing to finalise medical test today.

Benjamin Pavard Transfer: Bayern Munich Benjamin Pavard is set to join Inter Milan in the summer. Inter’s CEO Giuseppe Marotta revealed on Monday that Milan will soon announce the signing of a France full-back. Meanwhile, it’s also a big setback for Man United who considered him an ideal replacement for Harry Maguire.

Inter CEO Marotta said to Radio Serie A, “There won’t be any announcement today (Monday), but everything is OK. Any player we look for has to be good, have experience and an aura about them – Pavard fulfils all three of those criteria.”

The Frenchman has spent seven years in Germany and won league titles for Bayern. He won the Champions League title in 2020. Inter are chasing this target as they desperately need a defender. Serie A giants will likely offer 30 million euros ($32.7 million) with five million euros of potential add-ons to sign the 27-year-old.

Transfer expert Romano earlier confirmed this deal and said, “I understand Inter (Milan) and Bayern have now reached an agreement in principle to sign Benjamin Pavard. Deal in place for 30 million euros plus two or three million euros in add ons. Package agreed between clubs and on the player’s side.”

Inter Milan will announce the signing of the French defender this week. As per reports, Bayern and Inter Milan have agreed on terms as the deal is done. The Serie A giants are preparing to finalise the medical test in Milano this week.

Meanwhile, Benjamin Pavard had verbally agreed to join Man United but the club’s long-term target is now on his way to Inter Milan. Man United already decided the future of Harry Maguire who is linked with West Ham. The possible deal collapsed for Man United and they have to shift their attention on any other option.

Bundesliga giants will now look to find a replacement for Pavard who is leaving the club. With the guidance of Thomas Tuchel, Bayern are holding a discussion with other defensive targets. They recently invested in former Tottenham star, Harry Kane. Defence is the area where they need improvement in pursuit of the European title.
