Bad times continue for India Football Team. After their shocking 2-1 loss to Afghanistan at home in the FIFA 2026 World Cup Qualifiers, India have gone down by 4 spots. The Blue Tigers are now currently ranked 121 in Men’s FIFA Rankings. Poor performance from Igor Stimac’s boys have seen the India team slumping in their rankings.
India’s FIFA Rankings took a massive hit when they went out to play a goalless draw away against Afghanistan. But tragedy struck when the visitors comfortably defeated the Blue Tigers at Guwahati. After the 2-1 loss in the FIFA World Cup Round 2 qualifiers, India went on to lose 4 ranking spots.
India is currently ranked 121 in the latest FIFA Rankings. Earlier, the Blue Tigers moved ahead of the 100 ranking spot. This was primarily owing to the fact that the Team India won the Intercontinental Cup, the Tri-Nations tournament and the SAFF Championship.
India then went on to beat Kuwait away from home. But Igor Stimac’s boys had a horrible outing AFC Asian Cup in Qatar. The Blue Tigers lost all their 3 games. Furthermore, Sunil Chhetri and Co failed to score solitary goal in the tournament. The poor performance meant India slump to the 117th spot. And now after poor performances, India languish at the 121st spot.
