Fantasy Premier League 2023-24: Top Captain picks for Gameweek 05
One of the top favorites to pick up the armband for Gamweek 05 is Erling Haaland. He had a tough start to the season but is coming off a hat trick in this game. The Norwegian managed 20 FPL points in Gameweek 04. He now has six goals and one assist in only four league games. Man City will travel to London for a game against West Ham. His ownership stands at a staggering 92 per cent and Ballon d’Or favourites should be the first choice for the captain in FPL.
Joining Erling Haaland will be Liverpool’s Mo Salah who had a decent season in 2022/23. Salah has scored two goals and provided two assists so far. The Egyptian will be in action against Wolves and look to extend Liverpool’s winning run.
Arsenal’s captain Martin Odegaard will be our third choice who was instrumental in the club’s victory against Man United. The Gunners will meet Everton at Goodison Park. He can score at least one or two goals to boost his position in the top-scorers tally.
Son Heung-min will be our fourth choice as captain who has shown great character in the last game by scoring a hat trick. After Harry Kane’s departure, he took the responsibility to lead from the front. Spurs take on Sheffield United and Son Heung-min can target good points in FPL.
Differential picks for Gameweek 05
Nottingham Forest’s Taiwo Awoniyi is our first pick and will remain at the top as a differential pick. He scored a goal against United and was instrumental in the win over Chelsea last gameweek. His side will face out-of-form Burnely who were smashed hard by Tottenham. It would be an opportunity for Taiwo Awoniyi to score one or two goals.
Andreas Pereira has been a vital player for Fulham in midfield. He was the second-highest-scoring FPL player from his side last season with 123 points. His side take on newly promoted Luton Town and it’s a grand opportunity to find the name on the scoresheet.
