FPL 2023-24: Fantasy Premier League – FPL Gameweek 01 team selection – English Premier League is back with the new season. Man City will go for the title defense for the third consecutive time. Arsenal are also pumped up after a solid season in 2022/23. They will try to win it this time. Liverpool and Man United will also push for the title glory after decent summer signings. We have a cracking Chelsea-Liverpool game also this week. The challenges will be doubled due to the FPL. Fantasy Premier League 2023-24: Top Captain picks for Gameweek 01

One of the top favorites to pick up the armband for Gamweek 01 is Erling Haaland. The Norwegian striker did a masterclass in his debut season with Man City. He scored 36 goals last season to add his name to record books. He helped his club to win the treble last season. Haaland would look to take his form into the new season. He can score at least two goals against Nottingham Forest.

Joining the talented Erling Haaland will be Man United star Marcus Rashford who had a terrific season under Erik ten Hag. The Englishman helped his club to win its first silverware since 2017 and Man United finish third in the table. Red Devils take on Wolves in season opener and Rashford would look to extend his best form in 2023/24.

Bayern-linked Harry Kane will be our third choice who was the second-highest goal-scorer last season after Haaland. The Englishman recently scored 4 goals in the first half of a pre-season game. Tottenham accepted the bid from Bayern as per reports but he is likely to stay with his current club. He will look to add one or two goals in the opening game to come closer to the Premier League goal record.

Mo Salah will be our fourth choice as captain. Liverpool had a disappointing season and they lacked in goal-scoring ability but the Egyptian still showed his class. He can be a game-changer for the club and lead the attack when his side will lock horns against Chelsea.

Differential picks for Gameweek 01

Kaoru Mitoma should be a good choice among the Differential picks. The Brighton midfielder has been consistent with his performances and he helped his club to earn maiden European qualification. He is great at dribbling and provides opportunities in scoring goals.

Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka will be another differential pick for game week 01. He was instrumental in Arsenal’s excellent season when they finished second. He scored 14 goals and provided 12 assists last season. He will try to make the most of it from the clash against Nottingham Forrest.
