Following a £15 million summer transfer from Austria’s Sturm Graz, he has scored seven goals in his debut season for Atalanta. Many have likened him to Manchester City’s hotshot Erling Haaland from Norway. Arsenal, though, have been named as the front-runners to sign Hojlund, according to the Italian publication Calciomercato. However, they assert that any potential transaction will cost around £30 million, which is double the sum that Serie A club Atalanta paid for him only a few months ago.

In line with yesterday’s rumours, Hojlund is one of the five strikers that Arsenal is reportedly scouting ahead of the summer. Arsenal presently leads rival Manchester City by eight points at the top of the standings as they inch closer to their first championship since 2004. Even yet, Mikel Arteta’s team has had a number of attack-related issues this season. Gabriel Jesus has only recently made a comeback after being sidelined for four months due to injury.

As the attack’s focal point, Hojlund has put on a string of excellent displays for the Bergamo-based club this season. In 33 appearances across several competitions for the Italian club this season, the talented center-forward has five assists in addition to 14 goals.

With an average of 1.5 shots, 0.9 critical passes, and 0.7 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A, the 20-year-old has established himself as a dependable performer in the final third. Yet, given that his pass completion percentage in the Italian first division was only 74.8%, he needs to focus on distributing the ball more effectively.
