United’s new transfer targets are two midfielders from Brighton and Hove Albion; Alexis Mac Allister and Moisés Caicedo, who are top targets of the two teams. The 21-year-old Caicedo was close to signing for Arsenal in January 2023, but he stayed at Brighton as management insisted on playing for them at least until the season ends. Liverpool is also keen on signing Mac Allister after their midfield was wide open in several games this season. Arsenal has been in a good form this season and the midfield has played a huge role in that. They even boosted that midfield in the January transfer window by adding Trossard and Jorginho. Despite that, they seem to be keen on signing a few names for the long run.
On the other hand, Manchester United is desperate to have some new faces in the midfield. Casemiro and Eriksen have been doing well, but in their absence, the Red Devils seemed to be vulnerable on a few occasions. United are still keeping an eye on Frekie De Jong, who nearly joined them in the last summer transfer window.
However, if that move fails, United will opt for Caicedo and Mac Allister. The World Cup winner along with the 21-year old has been bossing the midfield for Brighton this season.

Ten Hag needs players like Allister who are creative from the back and can carry the ball forward. Eriksen was perfectly fit in the role, but his injury left United to lose several points. The Dutch manager even tried attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes in that role against Everton, which tells us how important that role is for Ten Hag.
The Red Devils have Casemiro and Eriksen as reliable names, but the addition of Allister and Caicedo will give them the depth in the squad, that they require in order to remain in all the competitions till the very end. Will Arsenal and Liverpool give up on both the player that easily? That will be interesting to see.
