Gonzalo Montiel got in the good graces of Argentines and all Argentina fans around the world when he kicked the final penalty which led Argentina to the World Cup trophy. However, a recent scandal regarding the Sevilla player has seen the light of day as a model went to the authorities to file a complaint. As per reports, the complaint consists of “sexual abuse with penetration aggravated by a group of people.”
As per the victim, the act happened three years ago on January 1, 2019 during the player’s birthday party in his house. The victim is a model and the lawyer Raquel Hermida who is helping her said that she and Montiel were in a short relationship. She even met with the player’s parents and then Montiel insisted that she comes to his birthday party.
The model is known to avoid alcohol, but as she attended the birthday party, she had two drinks. However, “she became absolutely unconscious” after she had those two drinks, said her lawyer in an interview with the Argentine radio channel, Radio 10. The model knows that she was thrown out of Montiel’s house after that.
However, as per the lawyer Hermida, she has no recollection of the number of people involved in the incident or how she reached home after everything. Hermida said, “She doesn’t know how many people were involved in the abuse” and added, “She doesn’t know yet how she got home.”

The incident occurred in the La Matanza municipality and that’s where the complaint was filed. The lawyer said that the case is getting expanded these days because the victim received some threats from the player’s entourage. Apparently, some people including Montiel’s mother reached the model and threatened her when she went to make an official complaint.
The player has been a part of Argentina’s all three major trophy-winning squads. He has won Copa America in 2021, Finalissima in 2022, and the World Cup in 2022 with the Argentina team. He gained fame gradually among all Argentina fans as Argentina started winning major trophies. His fame reached its peak as he netted the last deciding penalty for Argentina during the penalty shoot-out in the 2022 World Cup final between Argentina and France. However, his performance in La Liga for Sevilla has been subpar.
