Florentino Perez: Real Madrid have made significant inclusions to their team this summer. However, since Karim Benzema left the club at the start of the summer transfer window, Madrid have not been able to replace him as of yet. Even though Joselu will fill the gap in the final third, he cannot be expected to fill Benzema’s shoes. Meanwhile, reportedly, boss Florentino Perez is ready to bid for PSG star Kylian Mbappe another time. This seems to have enraged the fans even though Mbappe could be a good replacement for Benzema as he rejected Madrid previously.

The Real Madrid and Kylian Mbappe saga which began in 2021, seems to be still ongoing. When Mbappe had a year left on his contract back in 2021 Real Madrid were ready to pay €200 million for the French striker. However, it went nowhere at that time. At the end of his contract in 2022, Real Madrid were again ready to bed and they were willing to pay €230 million this time around. When the deal seemed like it would soon be finalised, Mbappe made a dramatic U-turn.
Mbappe signed an extension with PSG which nears its conclusion at the end of June, 2024. The drama around this year entails that Mbappe is not willing to extend his deal with PSG, yet he is not willing to go to any other club this transfer window as well. That means he will be walking out as a free agent at the end of June, next year. Naturally, this does not sit well with PSG, so they put their ace player on the market with an asking price of €200 million.

Reportedly, Real Madrid boss Florentino Perez is ready to bid for Mbappe another time. Now, this isn’t going down well among the Los Blancos fans who do not want a player that already rejected them previously in their club. However, this is not the only fact fans are angry about. Their star player Karim Benzema left at the start of this transfer window. Even though Real Madrid have brought in 5 amazing players this transfer window, none of them can perfectly replace Benzema.
The transfers include talented Englishman Jude Bellingham who cost them a whopping €103 million. However, fans don’t seem happy that Perez is happy to replace Benzema with Joselu. They are also not pleased with the fact that they did not push for Erling Haaland or Harry Kane. Yet, President Perez was reportedly ready to bid for Mbappe again this year offering a €180 million bid. Not surprisingly, it now seems that Mbappe is ready to extend his contract with PSG. This sparked anger again in Los Blancos fans.
As a result, fans have taken to social media to express their anger with President Perez. One fan wrote, “Kylian Mbappe playing with Florentino Perez every summer…someone check on grandpa.” Another fan wrote, “Florentino Perez has gradually losing his touch and credibility with his obsessive Mbappe disorder.” With still half a month left for the transfer window to close, it seems that the drama could lengthen. Especially because Real Madrid still need a good No. 9 after they missed out on both La Liga and the Champions League last season.
