Firmino Transfer: Barcelona Transfer: Liverpool Transfer – Roberto Firmino has not seen a lot of playing time this season under Jurgen Klopp. Coach Klopp announced a few days ago that Firmino will leave the club at the end of the season. Reports arrived that the Liverpool star has even agreed on terms with Barcelona. Upon the news, former Brazilian and Barcelona player Rivaldo has come forward to warn off Firmino regarding that move saying he could get very little playing time. Rivaldo joined Barcelona back in 1997 and spent 5 seasons at the club. During his tenure at the club, he score 130 goals and gave 45 assists. He won several La Liga, Spanish Supercup, and UEFA Supercup titles with the club. His time with the club was the peak of his career. He is still regarded as one of the club legends by Barcelona fans. However, it seems that he is not happy to hear the news of Roberto Firmino moving to Barcelona.

Roberto Firmino has seen less and lesser time this season for Liverpool. Liverpool’s team dynamics have changed in recent times. Hence, the involvement of Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez has seen Firmino take the backseat more often. Hence, Firmino has decided to leave Liverpool when his contract ends at the end of the season. Coach Klopp has confirmed that Firmino wants to move on to a new challenge.

However, as per Rivaldo, the situation could remain the same even if he moves to Barcelona. He said that before starting his ‘dream’ job, he should talk to coach Xavi. He said, “Following in the footsteps of other great Brazilian players, I believe Firmino would fulfill a dream of playing for Barcelona. However, I think he should first find out what his role in the team would be.”

Rivaldo added, “Xavi always plays with one centre forward – Robert Lewandowski – and the arrival of Firmino could suggest a change of strategy, but will most likely mean that he would be a bench player who would play only a few minutes. That’s why I think he should weigh up his decision, not least because he’s leaving Liverpool because he’s lost his leading role within the club. That does not take away the beautiful history he has written.”

Some other clubs including Inter Milan are also interested in signing Firmino. He is 31 years old and still has good days left ahead of him. Probably that’s why Rivaldo has suggested that the Brazilian midfielder should join a club where he will get regular playing time. Rivaldo has suggested more that if Firmino is set to join Barcelona, then he should first talk to Xavi about his role at the club and playing time.
