Tuchel was devastated when he was sacked last month by the new Chelsea board led by Todd Boehly. Since then, Tuchel has moved on and so has Chelsea under their new manager, Potter. However, it is evident that the shock sacking still hurts Tuchel.

“I am devastated that my time at Chelsea has come to an end. This is a club where I felt at home, both professionally and personally. Thank you so much to all the staff, the players and the supporters for making me feel very welcome from the start”, wrote the German in an emotional statement.

Although Tuchel has expressed his interest in the English top job, he is expected to face stiff competition from other alternative options like Eddie Howe, Mauricio Pochettino, and Steve Cooper. In fact, Pochettino is also without work currently after his tenure with Paris Saint Germain came to an end.

The current England manager Gareth Southgate is under immense pressure as England are winless in the last six matches going into the World Cup next month. Given Tuchel’s stunning portfolio, the German could very well be the preferred candidate after the World Cup.
