After their wonderful victory over the Swiss, the Portuguese players continued the party on the pitch and celebrated with their fans. Ronaldo cut an isolated figure as he walked off by himself and made his way to the dressing room. He did celebrate slightly, but did not hang around for more. Cristiano Ronaldo was left on the bench for this game and only came on in the 73rd minute when the game was practically closed out. In the previous game, Santos was frustrated with the number 7 as he seemed to show his displeasure at being subbed off against South Korea. CR7 was seen saying, “He’s in a rush to sub me.”
