2022 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup: Indian captain Astam Oraon’s family has been provided with a Television set by the Jharkhand Government ahead of India’s opener against the U.S.A in the U17 women’s world cup. Oraon will lead Team India against the mighty US team at the Kalinga stadium in Bhubaneswar. India, the hosts are placed in Group A along with the U.S.A, Morocco, and Brazil. It is a landmark occasion for Astam Oraon and her family. The family is very happy that they will be able to watch their girl live on TV while the country roots for her and the young women in blue.
The Deputy Commissioner of Gumla has arranged for the TV set for Oraon’s family and took to Twitter to reveal the same. Incidentally, Astam Oraon’s village is also getting a pucca road for the first time and her parents are working as labourers for the construction.
Astam Oraon hails from a remote village in the Gumla district of Jharkhand. As a matter of fact, seven Indian girls from the World Cup squad belong to remote villages of Jharkhand.

India’s GROUP and FIXTURES for FIFA U17 WWC –
India have gained automatic qualification to the tournament as hosts and are placed in Group A alongside footballing powerhouses like U.S.A, Brazil and Morocco. After tonight’s opener against the US, India will take on Morocco on October 14, followed by the final group stage match against Brazil on October 17. All of India’s group stage matches will be taking place at the Kalinga stadium in Bhubaneswar.
