Fans all around the world were left puzzled by the sudden change of events surrounding the highly anticipated Inter Miami vs Al Nassr match. Inter Miami deleted the statement on Wednesday in which they dismissed reports that the MLS team will play in the Riyadh Season Cup. As a result, there is even more talk about a Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo match-up.

Earlier on Tuesday, it was revealed that Lionel Messi and his teammates would meet Cristiano Ronaldo and Al Nassr in a high-profile friendly match in Saudi Arabia in February. It was dubbed ‘The Last Dance’ for both celebrities. However, Inter Miami quickly put an end to those rumours with a statement that has since been removed.

Inter Miami denied all the rumours which claimed a potential friendly encounter between Saudi clubs and the MLS club.

Inter Miami had issued a statement which read, “Earlier today, an announcement was issued stating that Inter Miami CF is scheduled to play in the Riyadh Season Cup. This is inaccurate.”

“The release included statements attributed to team owner Jorge Mas. Mas has made no comments, publicly or privately, in relation to the preseason tour. Since day one, Inter Miami CF has set out to be a global brand. To this end, we have been in conversations to determine our 2024 preseason schedule. We look forward to showcasing our players on Inter Miami CF’s first international tour which will be announced in the coming weeks”, Inter Miami CF Communications Department added.

However, it seems the MLS side have changed their stance after deleting the statement from their club website.

The fans were left confused after the latest incident.

“Inter Miami have deleted the statement. Is Messi vs Ronaldo happening or not?”, one X user wrote.

“Inter Miami have deleted the tweet. CR7 vs Messi looks still on”, another user wrote.
