Erik Ten Hag targeting 2 Brazilian talents as per advice from Sir Alex Ferguson

Trying to bring in both Brazilian wonderkids could cost Manchester United around £100 million.

Manchester United coach Erik Ten Hag will take the advice of Sir Alex Ferguson. They are eyeing two Brazilian teenagers to bring them to Old Trafford. It was the club’s legendary manager that opened the gate to bring in talented South American talents to Man United. The Red Devils are currently looking to bring in Lorran from Flamengo and Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras. They have not made any official offers to the club, but are keeping an eye on both teenagers for the time being.

Manchester United are suffering at the moment, mainly due to injuries. They are looking to improve their situation and bringing in young talents could help them. Coach Erik Ten Hag is focused on 2 new Brazilian teenagers to bring them to Old Trafford. Man United are eyeing Lorran from Flamengo and Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras. Ten Hag is following the path shown by their legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson. Sir Alex initially was the coach who first set his focus on talented South Americans.

Back in 2012, taking to the club’s official magazine, Inside United, he said, “Our scouting there has increased. We have got an operative in Mexico, two in Brazil and four South American scouts now. Quite frankly, they do produce. You see Antonio Valencia – he is as tough as nails with great discipline about him. The South Americans love playing football, it is just in their blood. The three Brazilians – Anderson, Rafael and Fabio – love it and are first to training every morning.”

He added, “It is a breath of fresh air. Chicharito [Hernandez] has a fantastic attitude to playing and everything else. It is really good. So we have done very well in Central and South America in the last two or three years.” The first Brazilian that arrived at Old Trafford was the midfielder Kleberspn in 2003. During Sir Alex’s time, Porto’s Anderson and the Da Silva twins Fabio and Rafael were signed as youth players and then they were promoted to the first team.

Since then, many more Brazilian players arrived at the club and left their marks. A few more Brazilians that are still part of today’s Man United team are – Alex Telles, Casemiro, and Antony. Andreas Pereira and Fred were also a part of this team who left very recently. 17-year-old Lorran from Flamengo is being targeted by both Manchester United and Chelsea. The talented attacking midfielder has a release clause of €50 million. He’s earned a place in Flamengo’s first team and Brazil’s youth team at this age.

Lorran became the youngest goalscorer in Flamengo’s history when he scored in his 2nd appearance for the club in January. The Red Devils’ second target Luis Guilhermo is another 17-year-old wonderkid. He has attracted big clubs like Chelsea and West Ham United along with Man United. The youngster has already played 24 games for Palmeiras this year and even scored a goal. His talent got him a place in ‘The Guardian’s top 60 youngsters. Both players could be brilliant additions to Man United considering their unending injuries.
