- England coach Gareth Southgate could decide to make a few changes to the squad that took to the field against Malta in their last match. For insurance, Marcus Rashford was taken off the field after he sustained an injury when he collided with his own teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold. Hence, he will be unavailable for selection for this match and the coach will have to choose someone else.
- Jude Bellingham, Luke Shaw, Nick Pope, James Maddison, Reece James, and John Stones are all absent from the squad due to various injuries that are yet to recover. On the other hand, Raheem Sterling who has recently been on a good form with Chelsea was again overlooked by Southgate.
