Elche 1-2 Barcelona Highlights: Depay scores on his return
Barcelona came from behind to beat Elche with second half goals from Ferran Torres and Memphis Depay earning them the three points. A rejuvenated Barça were looking to keep pace with Sevilla in second place and did so with Ousmane Dembélé returning to the starting XI after an impressive few weeks from the bench.
It was Dembélé who had the best chance early on but the France international skied his effort from the edge of the area over the bar. Xavi’s side were in complete control but struggled to create many meaningful chances in a disjointed first half.
And they would pay for that lack of creativity right at the break as Fidel netted with almost the last touch of the first half. After the break Ferran Torres joined the action and made an immediate impact as he finished off a Jordi Alba cross.
The Blaugrana then, controversially, got their noses in front as the referee gave a penalty after a VAR check that Memphis Depay converted
