Mohun Bagan Super Giant coach Antonio Lopez Habas will have the tough task of turning the fortunes around of the Mariners who are having a very average season by their standards. The defending ISL champions are 5th on the points table. Although they have had a trophy in the season in the form of Durand Cup, the Mariners will want to defend their ISL trophy successfully.
However, it will be a tough match for the Mariners who will be missing quite a few key players. Besides long-term absentee Ashique Kuruniyan, right-back Ashish Rai misses out of the high-profile tie due to a niggle. However, MBSG will be boosted by the return of defender Anwar Ali who is fully fit to start the match.
East Bengal will be brimming with confidence, having recently won a trophy after 12 long years. East Bengal coach Carles Cuadrat has finally turned the fortunes around of East Bengal, having already beaten the Mariners twice this season. Can he do it the third time?
