‘Don’t want player who wants to leave’, Pep opens up on Bernardo Transfer saga

Pep Guardiola finally spoke on Bernardo Silva and says there is no offer for Silva yet.

Man City boss Pep Guardiola gives a big hint on Bernardo Silva’s departure and about the potential offer from Barcelona. The 28-year-old midfielder is keen to make a move to the Spanish giants in the summer transfer window.

Ahead of Community Shield, Pep has denied any offer for the Man City midfielder and insists that he doesn’t want any player who wants to leave. He can only work with the players who will stay at Etihad. Man City maintains its stance on players who are looking for a departure. Recently, Ikay Gungogan also moved to Barcelona. Laporte is also linked with the same club for a potential summer move.

The 2022/23 treble-winning manager spoke to the media regarding Silva, “From day one until the end, I don’t want any player that doesn’t want to be here. I want to work with the guys that want to stay.”

Pep Guardiola also added, “Regarding Kyle and Bernardo. They’re important players for us. We want them to stay. We will do everything. To replace these two players is incredibly difficult.”

It’s pretty clear that Pep wants to see Bernardo Silva at Etihad and he assured that the club will do everything to keep him for the upcoming season. Meanwhile, Barcelona are looking to provide an offer for Bernardo Silva which falls within the reality of their restrictive financial predicament.

Xavi Hernandez is backing the move for the Man City midfielder. He wants support from President Joan Laporta to complete his deal. Barca’s manager is looking for an attacking midfielder to boost his squad. They will kick off their title defense next week.

Ousmane Dembele is now heading to Paris Saint-Germain for €50 million. It can give some funds to Barcelona to plan a reunion of Gundogan and Silva in Spain. Even, Barcelona accepted a €85 million bid for Frenkie de Jong but the Dutchman refused to join Manchester United. Things are still in plan and we might see Barcelona signing Silva this month.

Apart from this, Pep Guardiola also confirmed the arrival of Josko Gvardiol who is having his medical now. He said, “Regarding Gvardiol, he is doing the medical test. Everyone knows he is here. Hopefully we can finish the deal in the next hours, next days.”
