Arsenal’s second bid for Declan Rice worth £90 million gets rejected by West Ham

Arsenal’s second bid for Declan Rice worth £90 million gets rejected by West Ham

After rejecting Arsenal’s first bid for Declan Rice, West Ham United have rejected their second bid worth £90 million as well.

Declan Rice Transfer: West Ham United captain Declan Rice will be leaving the club during this transfer window. Arsenal have been persistent in their efforts to pursue the club. In their first offer last weekend, they presented West Ham with an offer of £80 million plus add ons. As West Ham rejected that, they presented an offer of £75 million plus add ons that equates to around £90 million. However, West Ham have rejected that offer as well. They will not be accepting any deal below their £100 million asking price.

Declan Rice still have an year left on his contract with West Ham United. Additionally, the club has an option to trigger another year of the contract. However, as things stand now, the West Ham captain is ready to leave. Arsenal have shown the most interest in the player and Rice is also determined to move to the Emirates Stadium. However, West Ham have put a asking price of £100 million for Rice and they will not agree to sell the player at a lower price.

By now, Arsenal have presented the Hammers with two offers. Last weekend, they presented West Ham with a deal of £80 million with add ons. However, the amount would be paid over the next few years. Additionally, to Hammers, the add ons seemed like they are unlikely to be triggered. Hence, they rejected the offer. Arsenal presented the Hammers with another offer of £75 million with £15 million add ons that equalled to around £90 million. However, the amount is still below their asking price.

As a result, the Hammers have rejected Arsenal’s second offer once as well. Reportedly, Manchester City are monitoring the situation and they could soon be entering the race with an offer of their own. Many believe that Man City will be able to match the Hammers’ asking price and they could be holding on for that. Man City could soon be losing key midfielders Ilkay Gundogan on free transfer and Bernardo Silva to PSG during this transfer window. Hence, they will be looking for replacements and Rice could be perfect.

Declan Rice transfer to Arsenal bid gets rejected by West Ham United for the second time, Premier League club Manchester City could join race

Rice has even talked to Man City coach Pep Guardiola at the end of last season. However, Rice still prefers Mikel Arteta’s playing style at Arsenal. Additionally, the player became a father only last year. Hence, he will prefer to stay at London, closer to his family rather than move to Manchester. On top of that, he will get a regular playing time at Arsenal. Whereas, he will have to compete with several others to get some playing time at Manchester City.

Considering this factors, Rice prefers a move to Arsenal and they could still put an offer of £100 million for the player. Other than Arsenal and Man City, Rice still has offers coming from Bayern Munich and Manchester United. However, Bayern Munich have withdrawn from the race as they have understood that Rice will not be leaving England. Additionally, Manchester United’s takeover process is yet to be finished. Hence, it will take time for them to prepare a bid for them. As a result, Arsenal could be the destination for Declan Rice.
