Cristiano Ronaldo’s son wishes to play with his father

Just like his father, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. will wear the same number for the academy team, according to Fabrizio Romano. His father joined the Saudi Pro League team in January of last year and hasn’t looked back.

And Cristiano Jr. hopes that he will someday be able to compete on a professional level with his father. The eldest son’s goals were announced by the five-time Ballon d’Or winner back in 2022.

Cristiano Ronaldo said, ‘My son tells me: dad, hold on a few more years, I want to play with you!’ The 38-year-old former Real Madrid superstar will have to work hard to stay in shape if he wants to bring his son on the field with him.

However, rumors have it that Cristiano Ronaldo wants to participate in the 2026 World Cup and might still be in Al-Nassr when it happens. By that time, his kid would be 16 and could theoretically play with him in the Saudi Pro League. As a result of following his father wherever he went, Cristiano Jr. has attended a number of prestigious academies.

He has participated in the youth programs at Juventus, Real Madrid, and Manchester United. CR7 isn’t putting any pressure on his first born to succeed though and had said he will support him no matter what he chooses to do.

Speaking last year, he explained, ‘I will never pressure him. He will do what he wants. Also what I want the most for Cristianito and everyone else is that they’re happy and that they choose what they want. I will support in any way.’

Ronaldo looking to change up retirement plans

Cristiano Ronaldo wants to play into his 40s and hopes to play for Portugal in the next World Cup in 2026. He wants to hang around till the next World Cup, where wants to make his last appearance.

Cristiano Ronaldo had stated that he intended to play at the highest level until at least 2024. This would include the European Championship finals next summer, but he Cristiano Ronaldo wants to play until 2027. He will turn 39 in February, and will be 41 by the time the next World Cup takes place three years later.

According to sources from Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo has told the Saudi football authorities that he plans to prolong his career through Early 2027. This would mean he would play for a further three seasons, according to a story in the Spanish radio station Cadena Cope.
