As per The Sun, Cristiano Ronaldo’s hat-trick triggered a bonus in his contract which meant that the Man United star bagged a whopping Rs 8 crore (£850,000) following his heroics vs Norwich. Ronaldo’s contract includes a Rs 7 crore (£750,000) bonus for reaching 20 goals plus a further Rs 1 crore (£100,000 ) nearly for his hat-trick strike.
Ronaldo is Man United’s top scorer this season and should he remain so until the end of the season, he would earn nearly 10 crore more (£1million). The 37-year-old is almost certain to achieve it, with his next best contender being Bruno Fernandes with 12 goals to his name. Furthermore, Ronaldo would receive more than Rs 27 crore (£2.75million) in total payments if he manages to reach 30 goals this season.
